"When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was GOOD for food and PLEASING to the eye, and also DESIRABLE for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it."  Genesis 3:6
This verse stood out to me because we always hear that we have to be alert because the enemy of our souls is out to get us. He wants to see us fail; "the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy" (John 10:10). But he will not come at you with a spear in hand shouting "I'm coming to kill you", instead he appeals to our senses making things seem "good", "pleasing" and "desirable". We have to be strong in our faith and know what we are up against so that we can win these battles. What may seem good and pleasing will in turn lead to our destruction. These desires and things the world has to offer are all temporary pleasures. Their road only leads to eternal condemnation. It's Not Worth It. But following Jesus? That's Worth It!!
